Thursday Report for Dec 9, 2010

Just another blizzard day on Blackcomb. It snowed heavily most of the day. Snow was fluffy and deep to the bottom of the Solar Coaster. Ski outs are open on both mountains now.

Here is the Thursday Mountain Host crew, except for Julie our supervisor, who took the  photo. Notice the snow going  sideways and our snow is now higher then the deck. It is getting deep.

Weather permitting they are going to open Glacier Express tomorrow and 7th Heaven on Saturday. I expect people will be lining up for 7th Heaven first thing on Saturday morning. The snow will be super deep but I bet the wind got at it so it might be interesting. In other words you might need a snowboard.

Looks like more snow on the way right through Monday with maybe some sun on Saturday. On Sunday and Monday I am worried about the freezing level going way up but they are expecting 40 - 50 cm on Sunday. I expect it to be wet cement but make a great base for the rest of the season.

Good luck to Joe tomorrow on his Mountain Host interview.

Judy's Winter tip of the day:

Squeak-proof your wipers with rubbing alcohol! Wipe the wipers with a cloth saturated with rubbing alcohol or ammonia. This one trick can make badly streaking & squeaking wipers change to near perfect silence & clarity
