Thursday Report for Jan 13, 2011

It was a great powder morning but the warm air has moved in now. It was raining a bit by the end of the day almost to the top of the Solar Coaster. Freezing rain in other places. Hopefully the freezing level won't go up much more as there is a lot of deep powder up high. 7th Heaven and the Peak did not get open today due to wind.
The new gear box and technician should be here now to fix the Village Gondola. I hope things go smoothly but don't expect it to be fixed by this weekend. The lower portion of the gondola is working for access to the Olympic beginner area. This is an American long weekend so expect long lineups on Saturday in the Village. Take appropriate action like getting there early.
Lots more snow expected in the Alpine over the next 5 days but the freezing level is way up there.
I think I may take a few days off.

Snow is getting deep next to the house.

Also the snowbanks on the road.
