Thursday Report for Mar 23 2017

You can tell that Spring has arrived. We are still getting snow in the Alpine but wetter weather is starting to appear on the lower slopes. Not to worry though as I still have 2 ft of snow on my lawn, which is a lot for this time of year. Can't believe that I only have 4 more Mountain Host shifts for this season.
Anyways today was actually pretty good. For a 20cm powder day there weren't huge lineups at the base lifts in the morning and the parking lots were not full. I managed to get on the Wizard before the public and had a nice powder run down to the bottom of Excelerator from the top of Solar. There was a delay opening the Showcase T-Bar with lots of avalanche control going on. Luckily they opened it just before our Blackcomb Glacier tour started so there was lots of untracked powder. There was some transition tricky snow halfway down the mountain and then Spring snow on the lower slopes.
Looks like more snow coming everyday and some appearances of the sun like it did today in the afternoon. The temperatures should stay cool enough for nice snow in the Alpine.

Blackcomb Glacier Tour today.

My powder track on Sunday on the left or was it on the right on Ridge Run on Whistler.
