Then the weather started to improve. Monday was pretty good. Wednesday was probably the nicest powder day I have had this season. The only alpine lift Whistler got open was Harmony and that wasn't until 12:45pm. By that time everybody had given up. We lapped Burnt Stew and most times we were the only ones there. Everybody else went down Harmony.
Good news is that finally the Showcase T-Bar and Whistler T-Bar are running. Now you can get powder laps on the Whistler T-Bar and access the Blackcomb Glacier on Blackcomb. I looked at the Blackcomb Glacier today and it looks good. I hear the ice cave is not there this year. I will have to investigate that.
Today was a bluebird day with nice snow. The only crowded lift was Seventh Heaven as usual. I hear Whistler was very busy at the Peak and Harmony. Harmony had broken down.
I finally got to take a free tour out today with Dan. First one since before COVID. Liz and Doreen got a tour as well. Had a great time. Hope we can get proper tour signs soon to advertise as our old ones disappeared somewhere.
Looks like a touch of snow on the weekend but sun everyday for the next week. So nice to see that bright thing in the sky.

Today was my first 10 of the season. Once they got Harmony fixed rushed over to Symphony. Second chair, 5 runs in powder and sunshine. Then someone let out the secret and a huge line formed. Peter and friends got the Shale Slope first thing and it was excellent!!
ReplyDeleteVail/Whistler has always provided a pass option with restricted access on some days. Last weekend wasn't that different.
