Blackcomb Opens

Blackcomb opened this morning for the first time this season. Ashleigh McIver who won gold in skiercross at the Olympics was on the first chair using her lifetime pass the mountain gave her. Conditions were good but got a little hard pack later in the day. Not a lot open but good coverage.
There are more food option this year in the Rendevous and they have added onto the Ski Storage building next door so it now handles repairs, storage and demo equipment.
At the end of the day it was dumping snow so tomorrow should be good for an early start.
Remember Helge who was here a last year from Germany? He says Hi to everyone. His is fine and is studying meteorologie at University. He hopes to get back to Whistler for a visit later this season if things work out for him.
Starting tonight for 3 days we have the World Cup Bobsled and Skeleton races in Whistler.

This year. Not a bad depth for opening.

Last year comparison. A lot more snow but that was abnormal.

Wishbone Run

New extended demo, storage, service building.
