Weekend Report

Great weekend with great soft snow. It was cold, but if you wore fleece pants under your warm up pants and a heavy jacket with a heavy fleece, you stay warm. I never had to put a face mask or tube on and my feet and hands did not get cold and it was -18C.
Yesterday I boarded with Peter Doe and Ingrid. Happy 55th to Peter.
Met up with Eddie and the Chipmunks today, Rod, Ove, Ilze, Grahame, Ross, Robert, Michael and Joanne. Ran into ex Telus Al and Mae, Garry, and Walter of course. The regulars are starting to appear again. I probably forgot a few names.
My $170 Volkl AC20 skis are fantastic. There are still some left at the Clearance Center store at Blackcomb at $199 with bindings. They are the 2008 model and are ex rentals.
I parked in Lot 4 today right by the free bus pickup. It is actually better than parking in the pay lots but don't tell anybody. This is a secret only for Thursday Report subscribers.
The front of my shins are pretty sore today from the ski boots. Might have to take a break tomorrow, which is my birthday, but then maybe not. We will see.
I expect Olympic Run, to at least Mid station, will be open by Thursday. All the snow guns are going.
Blackcomb opens on Thursday for the US Thanksgiving Weekend.
So get up here!!!

  1. That is funny that you drive to lot 4. I think you live closer to lot 4 than the lot is to the mountain!

You shouldn't lean on the front of your boots - then your shins won't hurt. Maybe you need a ski lesson. ;^p
