Thursday Report for Feb 3, 2011

Pretty quiet day on the mountain today. I wonder why?
It was wet half way up the Solar Coaster chair.
I managed to stay fairly dry, even though I was outside most of the morning and I took a 2 hour tour, as our Mountain Host suits are quite waterproof.  My gloves ended up soaked by the end of the day. Snow was quite easy to ski except the untracked skiff of new snow that was quite sticky. High winds shut down a lot of the lifts on Whistler but not Blackcomb. Visibility was not good on top of 7th Heaven.

The temperature as of this report has not dropped enough yet to make it better. The forecast is predicting some sun tomorrow afternoon so the temperature won't matter. Looks like the freezing level may drop for Saturday but start to go way up for Monday again. Runs will probably freeze up at elevations that go below zero.

Recommendation is to watch the weather forecast on the Whistler Blackcomb site and bring your plastic jacket just in case. Then again the weatherman has been totally out to lunch lately so who knows.
