Thursday Report for Mar 31, 2011

Spring is here for sure. The driveway is almost clear of snow now and the path will be not be far behind. Snowbanks are still pretty high though. Get your shorts out to sit on the deck apres.
Hiked up the Blackcomb Glacier last Friday to Body Bag with Bob, Peter, Wally and friends. Always good to get the exercise but the snow was very crusty.
Today I toured around my first cousin Jim, his wife Esther and youngest son Andrew from Australia. We had a fun time as they are great skiers and boarders. We covered a lot of territory and revisited some when the clouds lifted and the sun poured down on us. Snow was Spring like with interesting untracked in the morning and very turnable snow in the afternoon all the way to the bottom.

Looks like a mixed bag over the next 4 days. Just watch the freezing level. I think it should be OK. It has been very quiet on the slopes with no lineups anywhere.
