Went up Wednesday with Rick. Heavy cloud and fog over most of the mountain, but up on the Peak, it was glorious sunshine. There was a lot of moisture in the air and it felt 10 degrees colder then it was.

Today, with no new snow in a while, the runs are starting to harden up. Sharpen your edges. Not crowded and the numbers show under budget with Whistler almost doubling the skier/riders over Blackcomb. Most days seem to have an inversion with warmer temperatures up top. Get up early and ski the freshly groomed runs before they slick up.
Good news is that 7th Heaven Express, Glacier Express and the Horstman T-Bar are opening tomorrow, Friday. On Saturday the Showcase T-Bar should open. That would put all lifts in operation on Blackcomb. Has to be one the earliest openings for all of these lifts. Symphony on Whistler, I am guessing, will open the next weekend but will let you know when I know. Expect Blackcomb to be busier then Whistler tomorrow and maybe on the weekend.
The best skiing right now is on the ski out on Blackcomb which is very nice, soft, man made snow. The snow guns are going full blast down there.
Looks like a little snow is on the way this weekend and then back to Sun.
There is a new Apres ski place called Doc Brannigans in the old Chophouse in Creekside. They advertise locals prices. I haven't been there yet but Rick and Michael were there on Wednesday. That night they offer a full pizza and beer for $10. I know Eddie and the Chipmunks are coming up next week so they might be interested.
And by the way, don't forget the World Cup Luge Competition this Friday and Saturday in Whistler from 3pm to 8pm. Cost is $10 I think.
