Thursday Report for Jan 19, 2012

The one cold snap we usually have every year arrived this week. It got as low as -20C in the valley on Wednesday which was a record for this date. The wind chill of course made it even colder. Sort of luckily I have had a cold so stayed home as much as possible. Got out on Monday with Steve and Joe from Montreal then stayed home until today.
Today we had a nice inversion with only -10C on top and -17 in the valley. The sun was nice and there were no crowds. We took a tour into the Blackcomb Glacier as usual and the snow was soft with some powder still available.
They are predicting snow tomorrow and Saturday with the temperatures getting back to normal.
