Thursday Report for Dec 20, 2012

Friday was a beautiful sunny day, Saturday I went Cross country skiing with Barb at Nicklaus North. It was a bit of a disaster as the snow was sticking to our non wax skis. Sunday was a great powder day in the high alpine, Burnt Stew, West Bowl and Bagel Bowl. Monday I went up by myself and ending up meeting 2 guys from the States that asked me to to tour them around the tree runs on Blackcomb. After a few runs the guy from Colorado said that he now wanted to emigrate to Canada as 2 years in a row they have had bad snow in his State. I then went to Vancouver to Xmas shop. Ended up shoveling snow down there before I drove back on Wednesday. It was quite the snowy drive. Then I had to dig out the driveway in Whistler twice as it kept snowing.

Now we get to today. 50cm of new snow.I had to dig out the driveway again with Byron's help. On my first run from the top of the Solar Coaster to the bottom of Excelerator I was getting face shot after face shot. It was amazing. It got very crowded before they opened the Alpine. +15 min lineups on Solar, Jersey and Excelerator. I don't think anybody works anymore. After the Alpine opened the lineups started to diminish. Woody said Whistler wasn't that busy. When I got home I had to dig out the driveway again with Woody's help. Don't worry Joe I haven't bought gas for the snowblower yet to jinx the snow. Maybe soon though, as the snowbanks are getting high and I might need to blow the snow over them.

We might still get a little more snow but an Arctic Front might be moving down to produce sunny skies in a couple of days.Might be another storm early next week.

The snowy drive back up to Whistler on Wednesday afternoon

Glacier Express lineup just after it opened. Just a few people.
