Thursday Report for Jan 16, 2014

It had been quite the week. Friday night we got about 49cm of new snow for the busy Saturday crowd, Busy is an understatement. We got to Lot 8 at 8:10 and it was almost full. Skied down to the Wizard to the biggest lineup I have ever seen. That led to a huge lineup at the Solar. Anyways we managed to get in two deep powder runs by 11am. The Alpine never got open except for Crystal Ridge which again had a massive lineup. Very interesting day.
Sunday we waited for the Harmony chair to open and it was worth it. Kaleidoscope and Boomer Bowl were incredible with face shots all the way down. We skipped lunch as Symphony opened and it was just as good. The best day ever (again).
Monday was also very nice.
Wednesday I managed to get Barb up for her second day. A bluebird day in the alpine but thick fog near the bottom of the mountain. The snow was very easy to turn in.
Today the inversion started. It was gorgeous and sunny with warm temperatures up top and cooler down below. Snow was good up top and a little harder down below but not icy.
It should be pretty nice for a while but the inversion should only last a couple of days more.
