Thursday Report for March 31, 2016

I thought it was going to be quiet on the mountains after Easter, but it has stayed fairly busy as it is still Spring Break in many places. It started to get a little quieter the middle of this week as the temperatures soared. I think today was one of  the hottest days I have felt in a long time on the mountain. The snow is melting fast on the lower runs but the ski out is still possible. The snow is extremely heavy as you approach the bottom. In front of the condos next to the Wizard Chair they are pushing snow to one side to keep the ski out open. The snow is Spring like with hard snow early and then getting softer as the day goes on.
The bowls on Whistler and the Blackcomb Glacier have very nice snow.
Looks like the temperature is getting colder Saturday with a 10 degree drop in the Valley. We even may get a little snow on Monday up high. We usually get some powder days in April so this warm temperature is just a blip I think. Sure is nice though.
Check out the cute video of Casper the 2 year old skier on Blackcomb.
