Thursday Report for Dec 1, 2016

What a week it has been. I stayed away from the weekend as I luckily had a cold. It looked to me like one of the busiest American Thanksgiving weekends ever.  I felt much better by Monday so they opened Harmony Chair for me and my friends for the first time this season. We just skied right on at opening with no lineup. Love that midweek skiing. The main Harmony Bowl was pretty skied out already as people had been accessing it from the T-bars. Burnt Stew however was untouched. Pretty tricky deep windblown powder though. As we got lower it got better and some of the steeps we found over the next 3 days were awesome. I can't remember the last time this early I have seen this much snow up high. Thus the early opening of the Alpine lifts this season.
Today on Blackcomb the groomers were in excellent shape and it was nice and quiet. Think everybody was on Whistler as they had the alpine open. Tomorrow Blackcomb is hopefully opening 7th Heaven and Glacier Chairs. A lot of people have been skinning up there already but there should be still lots of powder to be had. What type of powder I couldn't tell you. How about I say lots of untracked snow.
Snow is forecast through Saturday and then the Arctic Front moves in for the first time so get ready to bundle up.

Rick and Myself took a big tour today of Crystal Ridge.
Lovely snow and blue skies.

Couloir Extreme is ready for you.

Cruiser lived up to its name today. Note how crowded it was!
