BRRRR! It has been a cold week but mainly beautiful blue skies. As low as -18C on the peaks. The Arctic Front moved in and seems to be holding pretty steady. I would recommend skiing in the Sun and wearing extra layers, including a face mask and mitts, not gloves. Once you are bundled up it is fine. Great snow on tons of terrain that is open. 7th Heaven and Glacier Express are now open and I expect Symphony and the T-bars on Blackcomb to be open any day now. They were grooming them this week. The Showcase T-bar needs some snow added at the base as the bars are kind of high off of the snow right now. The Horstman T-bar line looks in great shape this year. You will also notice a slight realignment of the Panorama Run about midway down.
We had some great untracked powder in Adagio Trees earlier this week, which is slightly out of bounds. This is my favourite tree run as it has lots of space and goes on forever. A little hike is involved to get out right now though.Cockalorum is in great shape. The snow guns are going full blast to the Valley and the ski outs are open. Not sure about Creekside though.
Looks like the next few days will be slightly warmer with some snow and then we get a real blast of Arctic air. They are predicting as low as -23C on the mountains and in the Valley as low as -16C. Hope my 10 year old battery still starts my truck.
