The Arctic Front has left and we are back to normal temperatures. All lifts are open now except for the Horstman T-bar and all runs except for Lower Peak to Creek and Lower Gear Jammer. I expect these runs to be groomed and open for next week as they have enough snow. It has been pretty busy on the slopes until yesterday. Some of the days this week they couldn't get the Alpine open as we had big winds or big snow which limited the amount of lifts open. The highlight was Monday with over 30cm of new snow and crystal blue skies. Some changes I have noticed is that the entrance to the Saddle is wider with no rocks and the end of Mathews Traverse seems wider as well.
The Mountain Hosts are now sponsored by CIBC so we have gifts for people that come on our tours. Our huts are getting new signs with CIBC on them. Next year we are supposed to get new uniforms as CIBC doesn't like us wearing TD green. There also might be a ski thru ATM installed on Whistler.
It is going to be very busy next week so the mountains are opening their lifts at 8am until around Jan 7 subject to weather. So get to the lifts early and get up before the masses arrive.Remember to never get to the lifts at 9:30am unless you like lineups.
Looks like normal temperatures and a mixture of everything into the next week with snow, clouds and sun.
Merry Christmas everyone.
