Welcome to 2021. Good riddance to 2020 (although I did get a bathroom renovated).
What a week! Huge lineups, huge snowfalls and huge fun. In the last week we have had 188cm of new snow. Lots of great powder days. We just had to get to the base lifts before 7:30am to avoid 40 minute waits and find a parking spot. Luckily they are still opening the lifts at 8am instead of the normal 8:30am. Sometimes we are skiing down in the dark to the Village in the early hours. The Fitzsimmons Chair for Whistler is the best choice and Excalibur Gondola Mid Station for Blackcomb. I was hoping the upload crowds would have gone down this week but I think they got worse. When the University and private school kids go back next week it should get quieter. I sure hope so. I never got up that early to go to work.
They have adjusted the Harmony Chair lineup by adding two doubles lines. The singles line still sort of messes things up but when an attendant is there they make sure it works.
It was interesting on Wednesday after waiting in a huge lineup at the Harmony Chair and getting off and skiing down Burnt Stew. There must have been a thousand people that rode up before us but we were the first ones to back there. Couldn't see much for the first part but it was all untracked. I guess everybody went back down Harmony Bowl. Ski Patrol stopped us from skiing past the gun tower due to an avalanche in the Flute area. Not surprising with all the new snow.
I am hearing rumors that they are going to change something for the upload areas in the morning. No idea what it is so lets see if something is different in the near future. I am hoping it is something like if your first name is Don that you can go to the front of the line with all your friends.
There are no days sold out now on the reservations system but book your lunch times early or you may be eating outside. By the way Art and myself got into the GLC for a few beer without a reservation yesterday.
Lower Pikas food services is now closed due to lack of customers and lack of making money.
More snow on the way this next week so don't put away the wide planks yet. I see they changed the forecast for Wednesday from rain to the top to snow. Hopefully that is the right predication. I don't think Showcase T-Bar and Symphony Chair opened today so don't go there tomorrow as I want to have first tracks.
As a side note I saw 6 e-bikes locked up in the Village today. Skiers are riding their bikes to the lifts now.

I took this through plastic but you can see how deep the snow is outside the Roundhouse windows. You actually have to walk uphill to get out of the Lodge.

The lineup at Harmony Chair. I actually got into a photo. Thanks Ross.

Our tracks in Burnt Stew yesterday. I think from left to right they are David, mine, Ross and then Rod. That is Rod doing a final Z turn as he said his legs were toast.

More In Deep with Janet and Mike. In Deep is living up to its name. Thanks Robert

Janet in trouble in Log Jam. Robert you are not supposed to take a photo of your wife when she wipes out and then give it to me.
