This week we had some amazing cold Winter snow. So easy to turn on. It was also Sunny.
Today it was a little wet as the freezing level started out around 1,700 meters. On the way up Blackcomb today the rain turned to snow half way up the Excelerator Chair. Snow was a little sticky. As the day progressed the freezing level started to drop and it snowed to the bottom of the chair. Hardly anybody up there today. Last run down I actually had some untouched snow on Honeycomb. It was a bit on the heavy side but since I was snowboarding it was pretty nice.
Looks like more snow and maybe quite a bit either tomorrow or Saturday depending on which forecast you look at. Michael B. says he thinks that http://www.snow-forecast.com/resorts/Whistler-Blackcomb/6day/mid is very accurate. Lets see whether they are right or if the Whistler Alpine Forecast is correct on the Whistler Blackcomb site. It should be a little colder but probably not cold enough to snow all the way to the Valley.
I am hearing rumours that they might open the Alpine on Whistler this weekend. They were running the Harmony Chair on Wednesday to check it out. Hoping for some fresh tracks tomorrow or Saturday.
If you like movies the Whistler Film Festival is happening right now. www.whistlerfilmfestival.com
