Now back to the last week in Whistler.
Sunday was crazy busy with the opening of the Crystal Chair for the season and a bunch of new snow. Also Edge Card holders who are still skiing for free right now all showed up. Biggest lineup I have ever seen at Crystal. The snow was kind of weird and everybody I talked to agreed. I actually got tired on my snowboard which is rare.
Monday was alright until they opened Harmony Chair for the season at 12:30pm. Then it got good. Big lineups again but with a 6 pack it moved quickly. We did 3 runs into Symphony Bowl with powder that got better the lower you got. Everybody was skiing Harmony and forgot about Symphony which was great for us with untracked powder every run.
Tuesday was a good day to avoid as it was very wet.
I hear Wednesday was good.
Today got better and better as the day went on as it was snowing hard all day all the way to the valley. It was not very busy so lots of untracked snow around. The last run it was almost knee deep in places with light powder that was very easy to turn in.
Glacier Express and Seventh Heaven are going to open tomorrow, weather permitting. So everybody stay home as I want to have all the powder to myself. They were running the Glacier Express today and the lineup coral was set up. I think they were practising.
Harmony Chair lineup on Monday. It was just as big on the other side. These people need to get jobs!
Blizzard today on Blackcomb and no crowds.
Returned to a pile of snow on my truck at Base 2 at days end today.
It is nice to have a good start to the season. Let's hope it keeps up. I haven't put gas in the snowblower yet so haven't jinxed the snow yet. I think I hear my neighbour with his out right now though.
