Thursday Report for Dec 31, 2015

Happy New Year!

Quite the busy week up here with, from what I hear, 2 days set all time records for numbers on the mountains. I decided to stay home and do other things. It was great for all the visitors though with blue skies, soft snow and all the lifts running. On Monday the lift line for the Village Gondolas went all the way to Lululemon.
Currently we are experiencing an inversion with cold in the Valley and warm temperatures in the Alpine. Today was so nice and warm up top. At the end of the day skiing down felt like descending into a fridge.
Looks like the Inversion will start to push out Saturday night and we can get back to normal again. Maybe snow will return on Monday.

Sun Dog I forgot to include last week

Barb snowshoeing on the Rainbow Loop Trail.

Rainbow Loop Trail
Blackcomb Mountain from the Fitzsimmons Creek Trail across from White Gold
New alignment of the Showcase T-Bar in the distance.

Horstman T-Bar still closed due to the Glacier shrinking. Trail on the other side of the top of the t-bar is open again but very steep and narrow.

The top alignment of the Showcase T-Bar.

  1. Really enjoyed your guiding into the Blackcomb glacier yesterday and the very informative tour. Great blog too.
