Thursday Report for Jan 14, 2016

What a great week of skiing and boarding it has been. The snow was nice Winter snow all week and very easy to turn in. Wednesday was the highlight with lots of fresh powder. Everybody seems to come out of the woodwork on powder days. They must all have 15cm rules in their contracts or they are retired, unemployed or sick. It actually wasn't very crowded but mid mountain runs sure got tracked fast. Got some nice untracked on Upper Dave Murray and Tokum first. Then the Peak opened and we had untracked down Glacier Bowl and over in Symphony in Adagio Trees and Rhapsody/Lunch/Boundary Bowl. After Lunch we did Cakehole and Dusty's Descent. Lower Dusty's Descent is really overgrown with little Christmas trees now so I would recommend to take the road back to Peak to Creek.

Looks like a nice day tomorrow and snow after that for quite a few days. Temperature should be fine for most elevations to stay as snow.

Blackcomb Glacier Tour today. Guests from Europe, South and North America.
A lonely ride up the Fitzsimmons Chair at 8:10am to the powder that awaited above.

The Peak lineup crowd watching 2 snowboarders trying to get into Air Jordan

A skier jumping the waterfall.

A closeup of the 2 snowboarders traversing to mid Air Jordan. One was successful in jumping the cliff and the second crashed but survived.

The Peak powder awaits us.

Al pondering what line to take in the powder off of Upper Peak to Creek.

Dusty's Descent looking back up at West Bowl.

Don M. and Al looking at the little Christmas trees growing on Dusty's Descent. Don't think they will be trimming them any time soon as this run is still out of bounds. Powder was deeper here then anywhere else.
Rod's goggles give a very colourful reflection.
