Thursday Report for Feb 25, 2016

Finally it as got a little quieter on the mountains although it is still busier then normal. Great weather and great skiing. Snow has been generally soft everywhere with a little harder snow at the bottom when it freezes overnight. Snow has stayed very good and dry in the high alpine. I did a lot of top to bottom cruising this week on both mountains.
Looks like some snow will arrive on Sunday with cooler temperatures and some sun on the other days. It feels like Spring has arrived in the valley and one of my neighbours (you know who you are) has shoveled all the snow off of his lawn. Winter is not over yet as I know it can still snow a lot to the valley in March.
On Saturday the lower lifts will be open until 4pm as the days are lighter much longer now.

Big Blackcomb Glacier Tour today. Snow was quite nice and easy to turn in.

Bobcat going down our path the other day. Our cat must have sensed it as he came in just before he arrived.
The jumps are huge in the Terrain Park

Portable snow guns have appeared on the Horstman Glacier. I guess the other ones didn't work so this is the next attempt to rebuild the glacier.

Whistler Mountain's West Bowl taken from Cheakamus Crossing.

Blackcomb Glacier looking good today.

Snow is so deep at our hut that our ski rack is buried.
