The March storms have continued. Some have been pretty wild. Tons of snow and tons of high winds. Today was probably the biggest. We had 53cm of new snow in the last 24 hrs. It was very heavy though, so it made it very difficult to ski the untracked. The wind was close to 190km/hr up at the Horstman Hut I heard. The Alpine of course did not open and the mid mountain lifts were opening and closing as well with the wind gusts. I am hoping tomorrow it will settle down, the alpine snow will dry out and it will be fabulous if you can stay away from the snow the wind hit. I also heard that our snowfall this month has matched our normal average for March already. This week we have had lots of powder days and bad light days but yesterday was probably the best with Winter snow and sunshine.
Looks like still more snow to come through the weekend but the winds will be calmed down to a reasonable level. It feels like Spring in the Valley but that is OK as not much shovelling of snow is required.
No tours today due to the weather. Only 4 of us Mountain Hosts made it up the Mountain to Glacier Creek and Rendevous.
PS. If you click on a photo you should be able to see them all in a larger format. It works in Windows 10 at least.
