Thursday Report for Jan 21, 2021

It was a different week. No new snow but so fun to cruise around on the perfectly groomed runs. Some of the highlights were Raven to Ptarmigan and Upper Peak to Creek on Whistler and Lower Gear Jammer on Blackcomb. It was great to let the skis run. There were some foggy patches on some days but most days were nice with sun and clouds. It sort of felt like it was the 2010 Olympics all over again with nobody on the runs or in the lift lines. Everybody can sleep in now and not panic about getting to the parking lots in the dark. Weekends for the most part are still selling out. What is interesting is that the upper parking lots still seem to fill up to capacity mid week. That shows more of a local clientele this year. It will be interesting to see if this keeps up for the rest of the season. I am sure if it is a powder day it will go nuts again.

Doesn't look like much snow for the next week but it will be cooler. Not super cold but since it hasn't been that cold this season I think we will think it is colder then it is. Wear an extra layer.

Early morning on Blackcomb.

Our ski group is not getting any smaller.

Snowshoeing on Saturday. The Don Maclaurin Suspension Bridge.

Cheakamus River.

Rosemary and Iain.

Trying to social distance from the guy without his mask up.

The crew skiing today at the top of Symphony Chair. Good job as everybody has their face covered.

View from the top of the Cirque. Thanks Mike for these 2 shots.
