Thursday Report for Mar 18, 2021

The snow conditions have continued to be great for the first part of Spring Break. It is not as busy as I thought it would be. It seems most Spring Breakers sleep in as they arrive just before lunch. So get to the lifts early and have many runs all to yourself. Of course the exception is always Saturdays. It is warming up on queue as Saturday is the official start of Spring. The base is slowly starting to diminish, but don't worry as we have lots of snow and there will still be some powder days. Also there is still over 2 months left in the season.

Today it started to drizzle in the Valley around 11am but didn't really last long. It was around freezing at the restaurant elevations as well.

The latest news up here is that staff in Staff Housing are getting vaccinated. Not sure how they rate but there was a break out there earlier in the season so I guess they want to keep it under control.

Also I heard on the news that people that wanted to ski here, but listened to our Health Officer about staying home, are now getting a credit towards next years pass if they didn't use it. Good move.

Looks like some wet snow on the way but it should cool down a bit through the weekend. Snow is forecasted pretty well every day in the next week with big amounts tonight, Friday and Sunday. Hope that doesn't mean big Valley line ups tomorrow morning.

I have been honoured to premier the latest and greatest ski movie by upcoming director Mike Stein. I even got to be one of the stars in it. It is called the OAS Ski Team does the Dave Murray Downhill. See below.

See how quiet it was at the Glacier and Jersey Cream Chairs in the morning. That changed around 11:30am.

Snowshoeing into Finger Lakes in Callaghan Country.

On one of the lakes.

I think this is Mt Callaghan zoomed in.

Not zoomed in.
